Heidi Garcia, Patient Care Coordinator

I was born and raised in the Bay Area. I recently graduated from MVLA adult school, and earned my diploma as a Certified Medical Assistant! My goal is to pursue a career in nursing. From an early age, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in the medical field. In High School, I was a participant in “The Health Academy” and my teachers discovered in me, a passion for medicine. Working at PCD is an amazing experience. I am able to meet great people, learn from the amazing team around me, and heighten my passion in a field that already brings me joy. Because skin is so personal, it is humbling and inspiring to not only see a patient’s outside transformation, but the transformation from within as they start to heal.

My immigrant parents are my daily motivation to keep striving for a better future. I started helping in my family’s restaurant in high school and have always worked hard, like my parents did, to achieve my goals. At PCD, I am given a similar opportunity to serve, learn, grow, and take care of a community of patients with an open mind and an open heart.
