Have Extra Time? Staying Home? Consider These Treatments!

Micro-needling

Take Advantage of SIP. These Treatments May Require A Little Downtime.

Your skin, especially your face, is the first thing people see when you meet them.

Healthy eating, hydrating, and having a proper skincare routine are some steps you can take towards healthy skin. Soft cosmetic treatments also help prevent and correct skin damage form sun, acne, or pigment changes resulting from pregnancy and hormone imbalances.

Most of these treatments are designed to help achieve a youthful and healthy complexion.  Some treatments require a few days of downtime, and now might be the right time to invest while we continue to SIP.  Self-care is often the best care, so start investing in you now!

Let’s explore some in-office treatments with a little downtime required.

Micro-needling

Micro-needling with Platelet Rich Plasma involves drawing blood then spinning it in a centrifuge to separate PRP from other blood components.  PRP has growth factors that aid in rejuvenation.

Growth factors in PRP stimulate collagen and antioxidant production, giving you smooth and glowing skin. Micro-needling with PRP also helps decrease fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and uneven texture.

Expect some redness and bruising for about five days.  On day three, you can use mineral make-up or tinted sunblock.  With three to five days of downtime required, this is a great treatment while we continue to SIP.

Botox

Botox is an in-office procedure aimed at reducing frown lines and crow’s feet giving you a soft, natural appearance. This procedure requires little time in the office, and does not require any anesthesia.

Botox  prevents the passage of signals from nerves to muscles. This means the targeted muscles will no longer contract, thus preventing wrinkles and lines at rest.

It takes three to fourteen days for maximal effect.  Please avoid alcohol and anti-inflammatory medications a week or two before the procedure.

Treatment with Botox involves several tiny injections with a small needle and may leave small bruises.  Bruises resolve in a few days and are easy to cover with a little make-up.  Eat blueberries and pineapples if possible to prevent bruising.

Fillers

This treatment involves injecting hyaluronic acid, a component of collage, into deep folds or lines in the face to soften your appearance. This procedure is administered through injections, does not involve surgery, and causes minimal pain and discomfort.

Fillers may leave some bruising after injections, which makes it a good treatment as we continue to SIP.

Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is a procedure that involves applying glycolic or salicylic acid to the skin to help exfoliate and peel superficial layers of skin treating acne, pigment, and fine lines.

Chemical peels may leave your skin a little red for a day followed by subtle peeling for three to five days.

Intense Pulse Light (IPL) and Laser Treatments

While IPL and laser treatments differ in some aspects, they involve the use of focused light to eliminate sun damage, wrinkles, birthmarks, and excess hair.

These treatments may leave redness and crusting for a few days.
